To Make Smoke is the second project in the MacKenzie Art Gallery’s new NEXT series. Realized with support from RBC, this series will support new solo projects by early-career artists based in the prairies. Featuring recent work by Treaty 4-based artist Audie Murray, this exhibition revaluates preconceived notions about Indigenous art practices and the transfer of knowledge. To Make Smoke will offer a fresh perspective on the sensitivity and curiosity the artist brings to her understanding of land.
