About
We employ a full-time Art Conservator to prevent damage and minimize deterioration of works in our collection and objects on loan to the Gallery.
Part artist, detective, scientist, and historian, the conservator is involved with the preservation of the Gallery’s collection and works on temporary loan.
This is done through preventive conservation, examination, documentation, treatment (restoration/stabilization to conservation standards), education, and research.
As part of the goal to minimize damage and preserve works, the conservator provides advice and recommendations for handling, storage, exhibition and display, transportation, and environmental requirements.
