All are invited to come and create with our Artist in Residence, Lucie Chan. Using a variety of mediums folks are invited to create with Lucie in our Learning Studio.

Lucie will be producing a large-scale sketchbook in our Learning Centre, exploring the theme of hybrids. Hybrids are formed by joining two things that normally wouldn’t be connected, resulting in inventiveimaginative and contemplative works of art. Lucie is an inspiring contemporary artist and she would love to have the community join her to fill the sketchbook.

Guyana-born Lucie Chan lives on Coast Salish Territories (Vancouver). Her multi-layered drawings often result from working with voluntary participants from the public. She has participated in solo, duo and group exhibitions across Canada such as Oxygen Art Centre, Centre For Asian Arts, National Art Gallery, Museum London, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, and Richmond Art Gallery to name a few, and participated in international residencies in Spain, Italy, Portugal, and France. She received the VIVA Award in 2020.
