Master of Ceremony

Meet our Master of Ceremony, Heather Cameron—an electric mover and co-founder of FadaDance Troupe. A Concordia University grad, Heather’s credits include performances with Ralph Escamillan (FakeKnot), Johanna Bundon, Misty Wensel, Bill Coleman, Robin Poitras, Michele Sereda, and Turner Prize*. In 2024, FadaDance premiered the 20-minute film the weight of our feet, featured in The Memory of Trees at the MacKenzie, and Heather recently choreographed [b]reach, a duet filmed across Regina’s Heritage Neighbourhood with music by Juno Award-winner Nicole Lizée.

Mika Abbott (she/her) is an emerging lens-based artist and arts professional residing on Treaty 4 Territory. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction from the University of Regina (2020), where she specialized in photography. Working primarily with medium format film, her practice explores themes of identity, place, and the nuanced relationships between intimate spaces and cultural values.

See the MacKenzie Gala — Velvet Rodeo live auction artworks in person from October 1 to 16 at the MacKenzie Art Gallery during regular open hours.

These works—generously gifted by the artists—will go under the hammer on October 17, 2025 at the MacKenzie Gala, Regina’s only live fine art auction.

No admission ticket is required to view the artworks. Please check in at the MacKenzie Welcome Centre when you arrive.
