The Idea Behind
A city may be planned as an ideal, as a two dimensional plan, but develops organically as citizens live within it, changing, affecting, altering and realtering the urban landscape.
The human choices made within the structure of the public sphere inevitably affect and inform its contours. This installation employs sculpture, video, sound and public collaboration to echo the selective, dialogic and participatory processes of civic evolution to shape an urban palimpsest in the gallery space.
