University of Regina BFA Graduating Show
10 March 2012 – 8 April 2012
Come see the creative imaginings of a new generation of Saskatchewan artists. The MacKenzie Art Gallery is once again pleased to partner with the University of Regina, Faculty of Fine Arts to present this student exhibition.
Hendeca: 11 Sides is a new exhibition of the work of the 2012 graduates in the University of Regina’s BFA program. These works represent the culmination of four years of creative energy and passion for each graduating student, and is one of the final requirements for graduation.
The show, named after the 11 artists participating, is a cross-section of the diverse interests of this creative body. With themes ranging from queer experience, to fear of death and loss of family heritage, this show has something for everyone. Works include ink drawings of the monsters of depression, an installation of hundreds of parachutes, and a futuristic interpretation of the Statue of Liberty as an historic artifact, among other pieces in the show.
