Nonagon In | Flux: University of Regina BFA Exhibition

New works by Jeffrey Altwasser, Danielle Corson, Dylan Dowler, Elizabeth Elich, Brittany Gillies, Mackenze Grad, Madhu Kumar, Matthew Lapierre, Audie Murray.

This spring, the University of Regina, in partnership with the MacKenzie Art Gallery, showcases selected artworks by nine emerging artists. Highlighting some of the strongest work from the University of Regina’s graduating Bachelor of Fine Arts students, Nonagon In | Flux will be on view at the MacKenzie Art Gallery from Saturday, March 18 to Sunday, April 9, 2017.

Nonagon In | Flux presents a collection of artworks which approaches a range of conceptual concerns around surface, light, the body, and identity. The subject matter is diverse: visualizations of immigrant women’s stories, intimate and delicately rendered abstract forms in ceramics; new feminist sensibilities; and the struggle between optimism and pessimism – reflecting a range of voices informed by broader social, political, and cultural concerns.

This year’s graduating class enjoyed the tutelage of renowned Canadian curator, Wayne Baerwaldt, and the program will also produce an exhibition catalogue to accompany the show.

Artist Talk | Thursday, April 6 | 12:00 to 1:00 PM

BFA Graduating Students will lead artist talks related to their work. This is a free noon-hour event and everyone is welcome to attend.

The BFA Graduating Exhibition is programmed in consultation with Department of Visual Art in the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance (MAP) at the University of Regina.
