Bright colours, fresh flowers and leading edge fashion is exactly what is in store for this year’s Art In Bloom. As we  spring into May, the Gallery Volunteers are busy at work preparing for this exciting fundraising event and exhibition. 

As a special element to the Lunch and Fashion Show, the MacKenzie is thrilled to announce its partnership with Saskatchewan Fashion Week. Not only will designers have the opportunity to showcase a piece from their Spring/Summer 2014 collection, they will also create one original outfit inspired by a work from the MacKenzie Permanent Collection.

Exhibition Curator, Lydia Miliokas, has put together a list of works that range in subject matter, styles, and genres, offering a variety of texture, colours, patterns, and materials. These works of art—many of which haven’t been on display for many years or are new to the gallery—represent the diversity of the Permanent Collection.

The final artworks chosen by the fashion designers will also be interpreted by local artists or volunteers through floral arrangements. Floral interpretations will be open to the public May 8 – 11, 2014, Free Admission.
