Join artist Jill Ross for an inspiring 2-hour silk screening workshop for family members of all ages; two time slots available (1 – 3 PM or 3 – 5 PM). Create artworks that explore ideas of community, inspired by images in the exhibition The Permanent Collection: Community Watch.
Jillian Ross, a leading South African collaborative master printer, returned with her family to Canada in 2020. Ross has been the Master Printer and Creative Director of the David Krut Workshop (DKW) in Johannesburg, South Africa, for the past 16 years working with celebrated South African and international artists in collaborative printmaking.
Jillian’s most notable ongoing collaboration exists with William Kentridge. Since 2006 Ross has collaborated with Kentridge in creating over 150 editions. Large bodies of work, in addition to her work with William Kentridge, have been created with over 100 artists. Her collaborations are documented in various book publications as well as in paper journals such as Art Africa, De Arte, Art in Print, Printmaking Today and Art on Paper.
