Curatorial Talk with Candice Hopkins

As part of our Rawlco Radio and MacKenzie Art Gallery Free Admission Day, the MacKenzie Art Gallery will be hosting a Curatorial Talk, with curator Candice Hopkins (Carcross/Tagish First Nation) at 1 PM. In her talk, titled Native Performance and the Self-Determination Era, Candice will discuss the themes and artists featured in Indian Theatre: Native Performance, Art, and Self-Determination Since 1969, exploring how performance has long served as a tool of self-determination, storytelling, and resistance.
At 3 PM, stay for a special performance of âcimowin, directed by Skyler Anderson and presented by mêtawê Theatre—an Indigenous theatre company based in Treaty 4.
