Buffaloberry Soap Company

Why Buffaloberry Soap Company? Buffaloberries, like us, are adaptable. They provide nitrogen, pollen, nectar, and berries to the surrounding ecosystem. They sustain black bears and grizzly bears. And our products at Buffaloberry Soap Company Limited are sensitive and gentle to the eco-system and can help to sustain the environment while providing safe and natural products for families.
In addition to using Buffaloberries being traditionally used to season meat, because Buffaloberries contain a natural, low-sudsing detergent called saponin, traditional keepers of the land would create a foamy (soapy) drink or sauce that was put on ice cream. Due to this saponin, Buffaloberries are also known as soap-berries. Thus the connection to our soap business. it was important to us to acknowledge that we live and create our products on Treaty 4 Lands and the traditional lands of the Métis/Michif peoples. It is important to us to recognize that the earth gives us the ingredients that we transform into Buffaloberry Soap Company products.
Buffaloberry Soap, launched in June 2024, in Regina, is proud to bring you eco-friendly, sustainable bath, body and household cleaning products and are proud to be home in SK.

Miss Coquelicot Poppy

There are 2 of us in the business, Nadine and Céline, and we are friends. We both grew up in France, where we started to learn how to bead as teenagers. During the pandemic, we decided to bead again as a way to have an activity to do together and to deal with stress. Very quickly, friends who saw our earrings said they would love to wear them. That is how it started. Since then, we have participated in many different markets and festivals in Saskatchewan, and we have had many compliments on our work. We are using Miyuki 11/0 beads or Czech beads (11/0 or 10/0), beading thread and stainless steel findings. Beads are a wonderful medium to work with as they are easy to take around and you can bead anywhere; very often, it leads to a conversation with people who are around. Some earrings can take several hours to make, but the tangible product that you get at the end makes you feel wonderful and proud.

From Prairie Roots to Protein Power. Carzan Local Meats was born from a love of ranching, family, and good food. Carter, a cattleman for over 30 years, dreamed of showcasing Saskatchewan beef since his high school days. Carmen, driven by her health journey, believed in the power of clean, local ingredients. Together, they started selling grass-fed beef and soon realized there was a hunger for healthier, tastier snacks. What started as a small operation has grown into a thriving jerky business, known for grass-fed beef, bold flavours, and ingredients you can trust. Carzan’s mission? Feed Canadians better while leaving the land better than they found it. From their ranch to your snack drawer – it’s jerky with roots.

David&Rau

We have the mandate that every kitchen utensil we make is practical and useful, and made to be used daily. We take great care as each item is hand-sculpted and sanded to perfection, which gives each one its own embodied characteristics and feel. The beauty of the hardwoods we use makes them all the more pleasant to use. Our cutting boards are useful and practical, and each one is unique in look, although identical in size and pattern. We hope our items will inspire all who experience them to discover the joys of home cooking or enhance the palate of those who love good food and company.

Logan is Saskatchewan-born and raised and has always been involved in woodworking. There is great joy in finding the natural beauty in the wood and the challenges that are presented when the layers are removed. She has a particular joy for wood turning with the lathe as the wood shows itself. Her other outlets are photography and fishing. Mariève is New Brunswick born and raised but has been in Saskatchewan for 20 years. She is active in the Francophone community. Her education is in fine arts in painting and photography, and she worked as a professional photographer for two decades. She does not have the same love of power tools as Logan, but hand-saws many of our earrings, sands, and matches up the pairs. Kira is the blind dog that is our namesake. A 14-year-old German Shepherd Husky mix who lost her eyes to Blastomycosis 8 years ago. She has been resilient and happy, a true inspiration for overcoming adversity.
