It’s a place where the human spirit is uplifted through meaningful encounters with art and with each other.
There’s always something special happening at the MacKenzie—exhibitions that spark reflection, programs that invite curiosity, events honouring community and tradition, conversations with artists, and film screenings.

COMMUNITY MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM
Programs at the MacKenzie help remove barriers and create welcoming, inclusive spaces for all.
Through our Community Membership Program, over 400 participants take part in guided tours, hands-on workshops, and meaningful conversations each year—all tailored in partnership with local organizations.
We welcome newcomers seeking connection, empower youth to explore their identities, and provide creative outlets for individuals facing financial hardship or social isolation. These experiences not only inspire personal growth, but ripple outward—strengthening families, communities, and futures.

RECREATION, ART & LIFE SKILLS for Newcomers
In partnership with the Regina Immigrant Women Centre, this program supports immigrant and refugee women and their children through art. While children take part in arts-based programming, mothers are given space to explore their creativity, build confidence, and care for their mental well-being.
Participants come from language classes and life skills programs, many navigating new beginnings and housing transitions. With support from a dedicated social worker, we create a safe, empowering space for healing, learning, and connection.
REGINA ARTS YOUTH NETWORK for Youth
RAYN empowers youth ages 14 to 20 to explore their creativity, build confidence, and grow as leaders through art. In partnership with the Dunlop Art Gallery, participants work alongside professional artists and staff, gaining hands-on experience in all aspects of gallery operations—from marketing and development to exhibition planning and studio practices.
The program fosters peer mentorship and open-ended learning, helping youth see themselves as creative changemakers. Their voices are shaping the future of arts and culture in our community.
WEEKLY WE MAKE for Individuals and Families
Weekly We Make offers free, drop-in art workshops every Sunday afternoon, welcoming participants of all ages. Inspired by current exhibitions, these hands-on sessions invite individuals, friends, and families to connect, create, and engage with art in an open, inclusive environment.

At the MacKenzie Art Gallery, we’re fortunate to witness the many ways generosity shows up—across generations, across distances, and in the ways people choose to give. No matter what stage of life we’re in, we can play a role in shaping the cultural landscape.
Whether a transformative investment or a monthly act of care, every donation is a powerful statement of belief in something bigger than oneself.
We believe in a vision of a world where art inspires and heals across generations.
Help us continue to expand imagination, celebrate our history, and build a shared future.
Community contributions, through donations and membership, make it possible.
